Artifacts in Localised Multivariate Uniform Conditioning: A Case Study

Abstract Localised Multivariate Uniform Conditioning (LMUC) is a technique designed for spatially locating Selective Mining Unit (SMU) grades derived using (MUC) the assessment of recoverable resources. LMUC has advantage producing SMU estimates conforming to MUC panel-specific grade-tonnage curves while preserving spatial grade distribution at selective mining level. However, results have two severe artifacts. This paper documents both artifacts four from large nickel–cobalt laterite deposit in Western Australia.
